ARTIST BIO

Ashley Brunetti is an emerging female artist, residing in California, whose work plays with the theme of opposition and emotional responses. Brunetti's works showcase strong color theory application while applying various painting styles and techniques. While her works are often paintings, she is an interdisciplinary artist working in painting, drawing, printing, fiber art, ceramics, and utilizes a multitude of mediums.

Brunetti is currently attending California State University of Monterey Bay, majoring in Visual and Public Art, while painting her own works of art and commissions. For past, current and upcoming shows, publications, and awards please see Brunetti's Curriculum Vitae.

"In my practice, my work is driven by the concept of duality and deep emotional responses which are grounded in reaction and interpretation of the visual dialog happening between patterns, colors, line quality, and brushstroke.

As an artist, I want my work to feel like a push and pull; a conversation is happening between the pieces and the viewer- and that is where the art truly is. That individual internal reflection and conversation. I never really see the true artwork; I only get to see the side of the conversation that I create and present.

Pop art and Post-Impressionism are specific influences and with this combination of styles and techniques my practice aims to represent a historical legacy of “counter culture” within Fine Art; pushing against traditional representational realism and leaning towards a combination of graphic aesthetics as well as symbolic visual elements."
